Bizbox Incorporated recently attended the Philippine Hospital Association’s 68th Annual National Convention on November 15-17, 2017 at the Manila Hotel. The theme of the event was “The Smart Way to Excellence in Global and Local Healthcare”
The convention started with the arrival of guests and delegates and a ribbon cutting ceremony headed by the PHA President, Jesus M. Jardin assisted by the Guest of Honor, Chairman of the Committee on Health, Rep. Angelina D.L. Tan, 68th Annual National Convention Chairman Rustico A. Jimenez and the PHA Officers and Board of Directors on Wednesday morning.
The official opening of the event was held on the second day with the opening remarks and introduction of the keynote speaker by PHA President, Jesus M. Jardin. The address of the keynote speaker was delivered by the Chairman of the Committee on Health and Demography, Senator JV Ejercito.
The first plenary session began with Prof. Neale Fong’s talk on Raising the Bar for Healthcare Management. Dr. Josephine Robredo Bundoc’s talk concerning Universal Health Coverage and Investing in Disability followed. Next is Dr. Eduardo Banzon’s talk entitled “Infirmaries & Level 1 & 2 Hospitals, & their Critical Roles in the Pursuit of Universal Health Coverage in the Philippines”. The final speaker for the afternoon is Mr. Gad Lim, Principal Research Manager of Cambridge English Language Assessment. His topic was “Language Ability & Critical Communication Skills in Quality Patient Care”. An open forum, raffle draws and awarding ceremony for the 4th year of the Hospital Best Practices in Infection Prevention and Control Awards concluded the second day of the event.
The third day of the event started with the second plenary session in the morning Mr. Terry Grundy, Managing Director of Press Ganey discussed “Defining and Improving the Patient Experience” the second topic for the morning was Dr. Carl W. Taylor’s “Healthcare Continuity and Connectivity in times of Disaster. after that was Ms. Jemain T. Diaz De Rivera’s talk about Alternative Business Opportunities for Hospitals. the last topic before an open forum and raffle draws was Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr.’s talk regarding Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Hospitals in the Philippines.
The third plenary session began after a break and it kicked off with Dr. Edward M. Dampor Sr.’s discussion of how to build a quality oxygen. Next was Dr. Hilton Lam’s talk about Evidence-Based Issues in LGU Hospital Key to Patient Safety. It was followed by the story of a hospital under siege when the Maute group attacked in Marawi by Amai Pakpak Medical Center’s Chief, Dr. Amer Saber and a talk about the State of Philippine Military Hospitals by AFP’s Col. Antonio G. Punzalan. The last topic for the afternoon was Atty. Romell A. Cuenca’s talk about getting serious about climate change in the Philippines. Like the previous day, the session ended with an open forum, raffle draws and finally the closing ceremonies. The closing remarks was delivered by Dr. Conrado M. Braña
Bizbox participated as an exhibitor in the event showcasing healthcare enterprise solutions that will help doctors, hospitals, and even patients. Representatives from different facilities dropped by the booth to inquire and express their concerns regarding the company’s products.
