Bizbox attends PHAPi’s annual convention, “Smart Hospitals, New Trends, New Directions”

The Private Hospital Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi) held their Annual Convention last November 13 and 14, 2017 at the Century Park Hotel with the theme “Smart Hospitals, New Trends, New Directions”.

Dr. Dennis Ngo addressed the issue with the effects of malnutrition in “Malnutrition: A Hidden Plague”. It was followed by a discussion titled “The New Landscape of Healthcare Industry” which was given by Mr. Raymund del Val, President of Davao Doctors Hospital. ANC Broadcast Journalist and Anchor of Future Perfect, Mr. Antonio Velasquez, gave a talk about a patient’s expectations of a smart hospital. Ms. Jo Aguilar from the Marketing department of St. Luke’s Medical Center presented “New Marketing Tools for Hospital Competitiveness”. Ms. Maria Linda G. Buhat, RN, Assistant Director of the Nursing Services from the Philippine Heart Center delivered a discussion titled “Our Nurses Today”.
It was followed by “New Approaches for Physician Engagement” given by Dr. Erlinda Oracion from the Clinical Quality Director and Quality Improvement and Safety Division of The Medical City.

A lecture about the skills needed to improve hospital operation efficiency was given by Dr. Maria Theresa M. Mercado from the Philippine Society for Quality. It was followed by a panel discussion, “Smart Discussion: New Conflicts, new Engagement”, by Dr. Bu C. Castro, LBB with the presidents of the Philippine Hospital Association (PHA), Private Hospital Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi), Philippine Medical Association (PMA), PRC Chair, PhilHealth and the Department of Health.
